TREE PLANTATION DRIVE AT HUBBALLI AIRPORT

Hubballi,June 7: As a part of Initiative of Department of Public Enterprise to plant 75000 saplings by the CPSEs across the country to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Plantation drive was organized in Airports Authority of India’s Hubballi Airport on 07.06.2022.

AAI has planned for planting atleast 50 saplings in each of its airport. Accordingly, Hubballi Airport has planted about 51 saplings of “Mandara” tree popularly known as Hong Kong Orchids (Botanical Name- Bauhinia Blakeana) in the Airport Premise.

The event was headed by Airport Director Sh. Pramod Kumar Thakre. Shri. V S L Narasimha Rao, Sr. Superintendent of Post- Dharwad was the Guest of Honour. All departmental Heads and Stakeholders joined the occasion of good cause to develop the green, contributing for the better environment around the Airport.
Airport Director informed that this drive will be successful when these saplings grow up into Big trees and gave a call to take care of the trees planted.
