HUBBALLI, Nov 25: Chartered Accountant Gurumurthy Matarangimath enters Asia Book of Records for his 5,000 km bicycle ride at his sixties.
In a bid to create awareness among youth about cycling, Gurumurthy undertook a 50 km bicycle ride every day for 100 days from May 11 to August 18 to complete 5,000 km cycling. When he achieved this record, Gurumurthy is 63 years old.
He used to start his cycling journey everyday at 4:30 am. Being a member of Hubli Bicycle Club, Gurumurthy elevated to president of the Hubballi Bicycle Club as well.
