Mundgod,June 30: A quick action and time consciousness of bus driver saved passengers life this morning on Hubballi – Sirsi road near Malagi village in Mundgod Taluk.
A private sleeper coach bus was proceeding to Belagavi from Dharmasthala when one of its tyre burst and caught fire. The driver timely with his consciousness understood this and took swift action by alighting all passengers safely before the fire could spread inside the bus.
When the tyre caught fire completely, then the passengers and the driver extinguished the fire with water and used the Fire extinguisher cylinder of a nearby petrol pump.
Later, Firefighter team led by Fire Station Officer Manjunath Patagar, Staff members Adiveppa Kuruvinakoppa, Santosh Patil, Durugappa Harijan and Vishnu Gulyanavar immediately rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire and prevented a major damage.
