HUBBALLI,Feb 3: The city police have arrested a youth in connection with a murder case of Vijay Basava (24) was found dead in a partially burnt state at MTS Colony on Karwar Road in the City on January 31.
On Friday, the police arrested Mantur Road Millat Nagar resident Syed Azar, who was a friend of the deceased.
Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar said that Vijay befriended the accused wife over the phone and used to harass her. Despite several warnings, Vijay did not overcome from it and continued to harass her.
Azhar and Vijay met at MTS Colony on January 31. The accused again warned Vijay to stop harassing his wife. After an altercation, the accused killed Vijay.
