HUBBALLI: Two days after a major security breach left Prime Minister Narendra Modi stuck on a Punjab highway for 20 minutes, BJP workers staged protest in the City on Friday.
The protesting BJP workers gathered near Chatni complex on Karwar road in the City and raised slogans against Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. The protesters also burnt an effigy of Channi and took out his mock funeral.
Meanwhile, BJP worker Manjunath Hebsur tried to deface banners put up at the Congress office. However, policemen intervened and prevented Hebsur from doing so.
Yuva Morcha president Prakash Shringeri, Prabhu Navalgundmath, Dattamurthi Kulkarni and others participated in the protest.
