PM Modi Addresses Nation In Wake Of Second Covid Wave

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the state governments to look at lockdown only as the final step and try to avoid imposing lockdown.

PM Modi was addressing the nation on Tuesday in the wake of the second wave of deadly Coronavirus.

“I urge the state governments to look at lockdown only as the final step and try to avoid imposing lockdown and focus on the protocol of “micro-containment zones” to manage the COVID crisis,” he said.

He also said that new oxygen plants in states, using industrial oxygen for medical use, Oxygen Express – were some of the measures the government has undertaken in the last few days. “The government is doing everything under its control to curb the crisis,” he added.

Modi then called on media and journalists to create awareness among the people and to eliminate the rumors.

He also appreciated the efforts of NGOs and individuals who are helping people in distress during the crisis and urged the youth to step in and help as many people as they can.
