Petrol Price Cut By Rs 25 Per Litre In This State!

In a bid to give a major relief to common people from sky-rocketing fuel prices, the Jharkhand government has announced to slash the price of petrol in the state by Rs 25 per litre.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government has announced to slash the price of petrol and the order will come into effect from January 26, 2022.

Currently, In Jharkhand, petrol costs Rs 98.52 per litre, and diesel Rs 91.56.

However, this concession does not apply for all. The slash will only be provided to two-wheeler owners. Secondly, the benefit will be provided to ration cardholders only and not to everyone. Moreover, this won’t be an instant discount and more like a cashback scheme.

According to the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s tweet, the two-wheeler owners will refill their vehicles as per the market price and the government will transfer the Rs 25 per litre subsidy to their bank accounts. Also, a ration cardholder family can get this subsidy for a maximum of 10-litre petrol every month.

On Wednesday, while announcing a slew of schemes to mark two years of the JMM-led coalition government, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said: “We know that the prices of petrol and diesel are skyrocketing, affecting the poor. There are motorcycles in houses of the poor, but people can’t ride them because they don’t have money for petrol… the person is not able to go to the market to sell his crop. We hear that people are mixing kerosene and petrol to ride motorcycles. We will reduce the price by Rs 25 per litre of petrol.”
