HUBBALLI, Mar 2: Governor of Karnataka Thawar Chand Gehlot on Friday visited the residence of retired professor Prof. SV Pattanashetty at Green Garden in Hubballi and paid tribute to his wife Mrs. Dakshayani Pattanashetty who passed away on Wednesday.
Gehlot, who arrived in the city in the view of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar’s Hubli-Dharwad visit, went directly to Pattanashetty’s residence from the airport and paid tributes by garlanding the portrait of Mrs. Dakshayani.
The Governor then extended condolences to Mrs. Dakshayani’s daughter Umadevi, who is Under Secretary to the Government of Karnataka, son-in-law R. Prabhu Shankar, who is Special Secretary to the Governor, her son senior journalist Girish Pattanashetty and other family members.
Private Secretary to Governor Pankaj Kumar Mehta, ADC Sandeep Sharma, Chancellors of various universities like Prof. KB Gudasi, Prof. C. Basavaraju, Prof. PL Patil and other officials accompanied the Governor.
