Old Hubballi Violence: High court Temporarily Stays 11 FIRs!

HUBBALLI,May 19:The Dharwad Bench of the Karnataka High Court has temporarily stayed 11 out of 12 FIRs registered in connection with the Old Hubballi violence.

The Hubballi Police had registered 12 separate FIRs against 157 persons for a same case.

Mohammed Arif Nagaral contended that the Police’s move to register 12 FIRs for single incident is not correct. He also appealed to the Court to cancel them.

After hearing the matter the Court issued interim stay order against 11 FIRs, and adjourned the case to 7th June.

The Old Hubballi had witnessed violent protests on 16th April after a youth posted objectionable social media content.
