New IIIT-Dharwad Campus Inaugurated. Here’s All You Should Know

DHARWAD, Sept 26: President of India Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the new campus of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)- Dharwad in Sattur today.

IIIT-Dharwad was set up in 2015 on a public-private-partnership (PPP) model. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had layed the foundation stone for the this campus in February 2019.

The campus is spread across 61 acres of land and has the capacity to cater 1,200 students. The new campus has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 128 cror. Of which, 50 percent expenditure will be of union government, 35 percent of state government and 15 percent will be borne by KEONICS and other private entities.
The main block is equipped with a senate hall, board room and a digital recording studio. Apart from classrooms, the campus has a Health and Fitness Block which consists of pharmacy, gymnasium, cafeteria and small shops. Indoor sports complex is also an attractive part of the campus.

As of now, IIIT-Dharwad is offering BTech programme in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, electronics and communication and a PhD course.
