Modi Govt To Observe Aug 1 As Muslim Women Rights Day

The Narendra Modi government has decided to observe Sunday, August 1, as ‘Muslim Women Rights Day’ across the nation to celebrate the enactment of the law against Triple Talaq, informed the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said a significant decline in Triple Talaq cases after the law came into effect, and Muslim women across the country have overwhelmingly welcomed this law. Muslim Women’s Rights Day will be observed across the nation on August 1 and it will celebrate the second anniversary of the enactment of the law against triple talaq,” he added.

Naqvi, along with the Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, will attend a programme in New Delhi to observe the ‘Muslim Women Rights Day’ on Sunday.
