HUBBALLI: Kundgol MLA Kusuma Shivalli was found weeping over her mother’s deteriorating health condition due to Covid-19.
The Congress legislator said her mother was denied admission at KIMS Hospital in Hubballi. “My mother is not well, she is serious. When I took her to KIMS, they asked us to get out,” she said in a video call with the party’s legislators on the Covid-19 situation in Karnataka, DH reported.
Former chief minister Siddaramaiah intervened and called up KIMS director Ramalingappa Antaratani and asked him to admit the MLA’s mother immediately.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said: “MLA Kusuma Shivalli’s mother has coronavirus. Despite being a sitting MLA, KIMS Hubballi did not give her a bed. If MLAs face this, what will happen to poor people? The situation is horrible.”
