Former chief minister Siddaramaiah intervened and called up KIMS director Ramalingappa Antaratani and asked him to admit the MLA’s mother immediately.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said: “MLA Kusuma Shivalli’s mother has coronavirus. Despite being a sitting MLA, KIMS Hubballi did not give her a bed. If MLAs face this, what will happen to poor people? The situation is horrible.”
