Man In Hubballi Loses Rs 15L To Fake Wedding Proposal On FB: 1 Held

HUBBALLI, FEBRUARY 05: Cyber crime police have arrested a man who had duped a person of his money by opening a Facebook account pretending to be a woman who was searching for a marriage partner.

Inspector Vijay Biradar and his team found that Rudragouda Mallanagouda Patil of Gangival village of the taluk got a friend request on Facebook from Sushma Susu. He was told and convinced that Sushma loved and wanted to marry him. Following, this, the new Facebook friend got Rs 14 to 15 lakh.

The police found Prathap D M, who works in a computer service centre in Doddaginigera of Hassan district, behind the ‘drama’ and dupe. With the above information, they also conducted a raid and arrested Prathap.

K Krishnakant, superintendent of police, Dharwad, led the Cyber Crime Division Inspector Vijay Biradar, ASIs V S Belgaonkar, P G Kali and R S Jadhav, constables A A Kakar, B N Balagannanavar, A M Navalur, R N Kamadod, P G Patil, and staff members R A Katti, U M Agadi, B S Demakkanavar, who were part of the investigation team.
