Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Trophy Unveiled

Hubballi, Aug 4: Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 cricket tournament trophy unveiling and Hubballi Tigers team announcement program was held at Hotel Denisons here.

KSCA General Secretary Santosh Menon and others unveiled the trophy.

Speaking at the press conference, Santosh Menon said that the Maharaja Trophy T20 cricket tournament has started since 2009. The tournament was not held in the last two years due to Covid19. This time the matches will be held in Mysore and Bengaluru from August 6 to 26. He said that there was a thought of holding the match at Hubballi ground but it was abandoned due to rain.

Six teams from six zones of the state are participating in the Maharaja T20 Cricket Tournament. “Hubballi Tigers” team led by Abhimanyu Mithun is one of them, he said.

Earlier the tournament was conducted on a franchise model. Canceling it, the entire tournament will be managed by KSCA. Sponsorship has been given to teams in commercial form without any interference in the matter of team and matches. Jindal Steels will sponsor the “Hubballi Tigers” team, he said.

Six retired police officers have been appointed to monitor each team so that no illegality or betting is allowed in the tournament. He said that the tournament will be held from August 7 to 15 in Mysore and from August 17 to 26 in Bangalore for a total of 21 days.

Ranji, U-19, U-25 and other matches will be held in Dharwad zone. He said that BCCI matches will be held in this part next year.

KSCA office bearers like Avinash Potadar, Veeranna Savadi, Vasudeva, Muralidhar, Sasidhara and others were present.
