KIMS Hospital Has 78 Black Fungus Cases: DC

HUBBALLI: Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said that 78 persons infected with ‘Black Fungus’ or mucormycosis are undergoing treatment at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hubballi.
In a release, the DC said that these 78 people who are infected with Black Fungus include 77 from various districts of Karnataka and one from other state. They are being treated at KIMS.
The list includes 18 patients from Dharwad district, 16 each from Belagavi and Bagalkote-16, five each from Gadag and Koppal, four each from Raichur, Haveri, and Vijayapura, two from Bellary, and one each from Uttara Kannada, Tumkur, and Chitradurga. One patient from other district is also being treated at KIMS for the fungal infection.
