HUBBALLI,June 21: The Hubballi-based Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has given a call for state-wide bandh on June 22, Thursday, against a hike in electricity charges.
According to the KCCI, chambers of commerce & industry in 25 districts would support the ‘Karnataka bandh’. It has given a call for bandh of all commercial firms including shops and industries.
District Chambers of Gadag, Bijapur, Ranebennur, Raichur, Talikoti, Vijaynagar, Mysore, Davangere, Koppal, Bagalkoti, Dharwad, Sirsi, Karwar, Bidar, Shivamoga, Kolar, Mandya, Chickmangalore, Yadgir, Chitradurga, KalyanKamataka, Haveri, Hassan, Bellary are among the other Industry Associations who have agreed to join the agitation.
KCCI president Vinay Javali said that Cloth Merchants’ association, Automobile Dealers’ Association, Jewellers’ Association, and others have also supported the bandh.
On June 22, a protest rally will be taken out from KCCI at J C Nagar to Mini Vidhan Soudha. Memorandum would be submitted to the government.
