DHARWAD: Dharwad continued to witness a decrease in the daily cases of Covid-19 on Thursday as the district reported 256 fresh infections, taking the tally to 56, 453.
The day also saw 651 discharges, continuing to outnumber the fresh cases. The district had reported 245 and 267 cases on June 1 and June 2 respectively.
With four more deaths on Thursday, the toll in the district went upto 987.
As on June 3 evening, cumulatively 56,453 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the district, which includes 987 deaths and 51,079 Discharges.
Total number of active cases in the district stood at 4,387, out of which 541 people are being treated at ICUs.
Belagavi district recorded 839 fresh cases, and 10 Covid deaths on Thursday.
The number of Covid positive cases and Covid deaths reported in other districts in the region are: Gadag- 250 cases, four deaths; Haveri- 146 cases, eight deaths; and Bagalkot- 194 cases, three deaths.
