It’s Official: Mask Made Mandatory In Karnataka

HUBBALLI: Wearing of face covering / mask has been made mandatory in Karnataka.

In a order issued by the Chief Secretary P Ravikumar, wearing mask is made compulsory in all public places, in work places and during transport.

Similarly spitting in public places will be punishable with fine, as may be prescribed in accordance with its laws, rules or regulations by the local authorities, reads the Order.

Further, individuals must maintain social distancing – a minimum distance of 2 feet in public places, says the Order.

A slight increase in daily incidence of covid cases is observed in Karnataka too.

As proactive step to minimize the upsurge of covid cases, this decision has been taken as per the recommendations of State Covid 19 Technical Advisory Committee.
