In A First, Covid Vaccination Camp Conducted At Hubballi Mosque

HUBBALLI: With the nation under the grip of the second wave of Covid-19 since last month, a mosque in Hubballi’s Shabari Nagar conducted Covid Vaccination Camp on its premises on Monday, April 12, 2021.

The camp was jointly organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Dharwad, and the Madina Masjid committee.

All residents aged 45 and above of Shabari Nagar, City Park, Pearl Layout, Akash Park, Badami Nagar, Hastinapur Layout, Madhura Colony and the surrounding areas have been requested to participate in the drive.

Speaking to Hubballi Times, Health Officer Dr. Farooq Uppin said that over 100 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on the premises of Madina Masjid.

“Though the camp was conducted at the mosque, it was not limited to any particular community. People of various faiths walked in and took the jabs,” Dr. Uppin explained.

DHO and officer of Department of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Yeshwant Madeenkar, Madina Masjid mutavalli Ashraf Ali, social activists Shankar and Mustaq Peerzade, THO Dr. Hittalmani, Dr. Sampat, Mr. Sami and others were present.

A similar vaccination outreach camp will be organised at the Deshpande Nagar Gurdwara on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. People aged 45 and above can take the shots.
