Hubballi Riots To Divert People’s Attention From Corruption Charges : SDPI

Hubballi,April 21:The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has demanded judicial probe into the Old Hubballi violence.

The Sangh Parivar man posted provocative content to incite the violence, said said SDPI general secretary Afsar Kudlipet.

The ruling party is facing the allegations of  40% commission. There are chances that the violence was fuelled to divert people’s attention from actual issues like corruption, he added.

Some anti-social elements deliberately pelted stones to defame Muslim community that was holding peaceful protest, he said.

Accusing Police of arresting innocent youths and harassing their family members, the SDPI demanded that there should be a judicial inquiry by the Chief Justice of High Court.

The SDPI also called upon people to maintain peace and co-operate with the Police.

SDPI leaders Appar Kodlipete, Irshad Attar, Maulana Ahmed Siraj, Advocate Majid Khan and others were present.
