HUBBALLI: Hubballi Rural police arrested three persons, including a rowdy-sheeter, on charges of robbery, informed Superintendent of Police P Krishnakant.
“The arrested have been identified as Shrinivas Tirupati Veerapur (23), Siddharth alias Kiran Navalgund (21), and Sudhakar Gabbur (23), all residents of Karki Basaveshwara Nagar in Settlement area. Shrinivas Veerapur is a rowdy-sheeter and he is accused in five cases,” the SP said.
According to the police, the arrested accused assaulted and robbed Siraj Mehaboobsab Kolur and Hashimpeer Savanur near Belagali Cross recently, and made away with Rs 15,000 cash and clothes worth Rs 20,000.
The police have recovered robbed materials, a Royal Enfield bike, and also seized a country-made gun from them.
“Investigation is going on to find out how and from where the accused got the country-made gun. Citizens should not fear while travelling on highways, instead keep the police informed,” SP P Krishnakant urged.
