Dharwad: The call to boycott Muslim traders at religious places took ruthless turn after members of Hindutva groups vandalized Muslim men’s shop in Dharwad.
The members said to be of Sri Ram Sene Saturday vandalized the shops of Muslim vendors at the Nuggikeri Anjaneya temple.
The men barged into the watermelon shop of Nabi Sab, and vandalized the shop. Total five shops belonging o Muslim men were forcibly vacated by the Sri Ram Sene men.
Earlier the activists of Sri Ram Sene had set the deadline of 26th march to vacate Muslims’ shops. But, the temple trustees had decided to take up this matter after 16th April.
The situation is tense after the incident. Security has been beefed up at the temple.
When Hubballi Times contacted DC Nitesh Patil about the incident, he was unaware of it and assured to look into the case.
