Owaisi’s Party AIMIM Opens Its Account With 2 Seats In HDMC Election
Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) party opened its account in Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation by winning two wards in the civic polls.
AIMIM candidates Wahida Khanam Allahbakash Kittur and Nazeer Ahmed Honyal have won wards 76 and 71 respectively.
Ward No. 47: Roopa shetty Wins By Defeating Former Deputy Mayor
BJP candidate Roopa Shetty wins by getting 1754 votes in Ward Number 47. Former deputy mayor Laxmi Uppar who was an Independent candidate had been defeated.
- Independent candidate Laxmi Uppar received 1147 votes
- Congress candidate Meghna Hiremath received 968 votes.
- NOTA: 54 votes.
Ward No. 43: Veerappa Khandekar Registers Victory
BJP candidate Veerappa Nagappa Khandekar registered victory in Ward Number 43 by receiving 2047 votes.
- Independent candidate, Huvappa Ramanna Dayagodi got 1459 votes and Congress candidate Sunil Matapathi got 1004 votes.
- AAP candidate Manoj Kamakara received 121 votes.
- JDS candidate Puneetkumar Chandrasekhar Shalavadi received 55 votes.
- Independent candidate Shameer Khan received 433 votes.
- NOTA – 73 votes.
Ward No.42
- BJP candidate Mahadevappa Yamunappa Nargund won the election by getting 2067 votes.
- Congress candidate Bijawad Chaitanya Rajnikanth – 1152 votes
- JDS candidate Arjun Durappa Poojar – 256 votes.
- Other candidates Manjunath Hulagappa Adagunji 50, Sivananda Yallappa Kannur 144, Srinivasa Thamayya Tagar got 272 votes. 57 votes for NOTA.
HUBBALLI: The counting of votes for Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, and Kalaburagi civic bodies began at 8 am amid tight security.
