BENGALURU Oct 18: A massive fire broke out in a four-storey building on Wednesday afternoon at Tavarekere junction on Hosur Main Road, near Nexus mall in Koramangala in the state capital.
The fire tore through the top floor of the building forcing a man to jump off from the top floor to escape the blaze. He was rushed to NIMHANS hospital as he sustained severe injuries.
As soon as people noticed the smoke emanating from the building, they raised an alarm. Besides alerting police and fire brigade, they rushed to rescue people who might be trapped, locals said.
The immediate cause of the fire is not known, although unconfirmed reports suggest it was triggered by a cylinder blast in the kitchen.
