Hubballi, May 11: Man Looses Rs. 50K In a Bid To Return Wrist Watch
A fake Amazon customer care executive has cheated Hubballi man of Rs. 50,558.
PS Joshi, a resident of Manjunath Nagar, wanted to return a wrist watch purchased on Amazon.
After googling for the Customer Service Centre’s address, he reportedly received a call from a person introducing himself as Amazon executive.
The conman made him download a mobile application, and was convinced to scan debit card. Soon after scanning the card, the fraudster vanished away with Rs. 50558 from his account.
A case has been registered at Hubballi Cyber Police Station.
