HUBBALLI: People in Hubballi-Dharwad will be deprived of the holy dip on “Makara Sankaranti” as the administration has barred entry to the Neersagar Reservoir, located at Dummawad village in Kalghatgi taluk of Dharwad.
In a press release, The Karnataka Water board has said, “Public entry to the Neersagar reservoir is prohibited from January 14 to 16 as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19.”
The festivals and the crowd gathering during Makara Sankranti festival have been completely banned and the public must cooperate, the water board said in the statement.
