Direct Daily Hubballi-Delhi Flight From Nov 14

Hubballi only second city to get daily air service to national capital

HUBBALLI, Oct 12 : Here’s a perfect Deepavali gift for the people of Hubballi-Dharwad.

Indigo, India’s largest airline, is going to launch a direct daily flight from Hubballi to New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Starting November 14, Indigo’s Flight No. 6E 5625 will depart from Delhi at 10 am and reach Hubballi at 12.45 pm. In the return direction, the flight will leave Hubballi at 1.15 pm to reach 3.45 pm.

Indigo has started taking bookings for the flight service, which is expected to cater to passengers from Hubballi-Dharwad and the surrounding districts in northern and central Karnataka. It will be an Airbus 320 aircraft that can carry 186 passengers.

Hubballi already has a flight to Ghaziabad, which is just 40 km from Delhi. This flight is operated under the UDAN scheme by Star Air and runs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Hubballi has become the second airport in Karnataka to have a daily direct flight to New Delhi. Mangaluru and Belagavi have a direct flight to the national capital four days a week.

The announcement of a direct daily flight from Hubballi to New Delhi came just a day after the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav flagged off a weekly train service from Hubballi to Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station.

The new train service is in addition to the Samparki Kranti Express, which runs from Yeshwantpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin via Hubballi and Hyderabad five days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Hubballi has two more Sampark Kranti trains to Delhi. One runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays while another train (which goes to Chandigarh via Hazrat Nizamuddin) runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Mysuru-Hazrat Nizamuddin Swarna Jayanthi Express, which runs via Hubballi, is on Sundays.
