Navalgund,June 29: A farmer, allegedly hurt by the loan recovery, committed suicide by consuming poison in Morab village of Navalgund taluk.
The name of the deceased farmer is given as Mahantesh Mallappa Muddennavar (35 ). It is said that Mahantesh had 2 acres of land and borrowed loan of 25,000 rupees from VSS Bank, Morab for agricultural activities and a private debt of total 1.50 lakh rupees.
He was given first aid treatment at Morab Govt Hosptal and later shifted to KIMS for higher treatment where he did not respond to the treatment and died.
A case has been registered by police.
