Buses To Hit Roads From Tomorrow In Dharwad Dist

HUBBALLI: With the State government permitting to resume the bus service by further relaxing the Covid-19 restrictions, the North-Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has decided to ply buses with safety measures from Monday, June 21.

NWKRTC Hubballi Divisional Controller H Ramanagaudar said, “In the first phase, buses will ply to Navalgund, Annigeri, Kalaghatagi, Kundagol, Tadas, and other major taluk places. Bus services to nearby districts of Gadag, Ilakal, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Haveri, Davangere, Sirsi, Belagavi, and other places will also be started. Based on the response we get from the passengers, buses would be operated to other places.”

“Sanitization of buses, depots, and bus stops has been done. Only staff who is vaccinated will be assigned to duty. Wearing mask has been made mandatory for the staff,” he added.

“Buses can run with only 50 per cent seating capacity. Standing passengers would not be allowed to travel. Buses will be operated from morning to 7 pm. Passengers must wear face masks at buses and bus stops. Similarly, they have to maintain the social distancing,” Ramanagaudar appealed.
