HUBBALLI, July 11: A 22-year-old B.E student committed suicide in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Government Hostel for Boys at Shiradinagar in Hubballi on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Shrishaila Jambaldinni, a resident of Vijayapura.
Rakesh was studying sixth semester B.E (Electronics & Communication) at BVB Engineering College in Hubballi.
Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner N. Shashikumar said that according to Rakesh’s friends, Rakesh was addicted to mobile games. “He had also lost money in the online apps. His parents have been informed about this. Further investigation is on.”
Ashok Nagar police have registered a complaint in this regard and send the body to KMC-RI mortuary.
