ATM Gutted As Man Uses Gas Cutter To Open It

Coimbatore, February 19: An ATM of the South India Bank was destroyed in a fire that broke out when a man tried to open it with a gas cutter on Friday.

The incident took place near Pollachi at around 3 am, said the police. The man who came to the ATM covering his face with a towel ran out of the kiosk as the fire broke out.

The Bank officers called the fire brigade staff, who rushed to the kiosk and put out the fire by around 4 am.

The police said that a special team has been formed to conduct the investigation using the CCTV footage. The loss of money due to the fire is being assessed.
