APMC Closed For Two Days

Hubballi,July 15: Karnataka State Rice Mills Association and Food Grains Traders Association have decided to hold a protest on July 15 and 16 by suspending all business transactions at APMC against the central government’s proposal to levy 5% tax on food grains.

Food Grain Traders Association, Potato-Onion Traders Association, Fruit, Traders Association, Vegetable Traders Association, Grocery Traders Association, Flower Traders Association, Coconut and Jaggery Traders Association and Labor Union have supported the protest.

Rajkiran B Minshinkai Honorary Secretary of Traders Association said that a unanimous decision was taken in the meeting of all the traders held under the leadership of Ganganagowda Patil, President of Traders’ Association and Mallikarjuna Boratti, President of Foodgrains Traders’ Association; to suspend all business in the market for 2 days, Minshinkai, said in a Press release.

He requested farmers and consumers to cooperate.
