Accident Death: Man Given Jail Sentence For Rash Driving

DHARWAD, JANUARY 18: A man who was held responsible for the death of a person due to rash driving and negligence, was given two years and eight months of prison term and Rs 12,500 fine.

Mohammad Yasin Kambali was given the punishment by the 2nd JMFC Court for the death in a road accident on the Hubballi-Dharwad Bypass in Jogellapur on June 5, 2020. Kambali had been driving his car on high speed when his vehicle collided with a car that came in front of his car. Farooq Ahmed Ghouse, who was traveling with Kambali, died on the spot due to the collision.

Dharwad Rural Police had registered a case.

The 2nd JMFC Court judge Achappa Doddabasavaraj, who heard the case, confirmed Kambali’s role in the disaster and awarded him imprisonment and fine.

Geetha Hosaganiger was the public prosecutor in the case.
