Hubballi,June 17: In a tragic incident, a nine-year-old boy was killed after a wall of an under-construction classroom collapsed on him at the Government Higher Primary School at Kiresur village in Hubballi taluk on Friday.
The deceased Vishrut Balagali was a third standard student.
It has been reported that the bricks of the under-construction wall collapsed on the students when they were playing near the under-construction classroom. Vishrut was rushed to the KIMS, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Prajwal Nagavi, a Class VII student has suffered injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at KIMS.
The contractor has assured a compensation of Rs 5 lakh while Public Works department has promised an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh. A case has been registered with Hubballi Rural police station.
