Ganja Peddlers Attack Police in Unsuccessful Attempt to Escape Arrest
HUBBALLI, Aug 09: As the Hubballi-Dharwad police commissionerate has intensified it’s drive to make Hubballi-Dharwad a drug-free twin cities had made few more arrests after facing a tough time on Friday.
Informing this to presspersons in the city, Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner N. Shashikumar said that a total of 12 people, all native of Odisha are arrested.
“A car worth Rs. 5 lakh, two talwars, a dragger, 10 mobile phones, and cash has been seized from them,” the commissioner added.
The Bendigeri police arested the accused and seized cannabis worth Rs. 2.50 lakh from the accused.
“Accused Keshabachandra, Nilambar and Tausif attacked our staff and tried to escape when they were taken for spot mahazar near Gabbur Cross. At that time CCB police Patil and Hedderi suffered minor injuries and admitted to KMC,” commissioner N. Shashikumar said.
