HUBBALLI, July 4: A Dharwad resident lost Rs. 20 lakh in an online fraud after entering a fake stock trading website.
According to the Cyber Economic and Narcotics Crime police, the victim was misguided by a fake website advertisement on a video streaming app and joined their chatting app group.
The fraudsters advised him to transfer Rs. 20 lakh. Based on their advice, the victim transferred the amount to two bank accounts. He later found that it was fake website.
