HUBBALLI, July 3:The state government has appointed IPS officer Shashi Kumar as the Commissioner for Hubballi-Dharwad police commissionerate.
A 2007 batch IPS Shashi Kumar succeeds incumbent Renuka K Sukumar, who has been transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Crime, Police Head Quarters, Bengaluru.
Shashi Kumar, presently serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police and Commissioner, Youth Empowerment and Sports department is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Commissioner of Police, Hubballi-Dharwad.
Kumar who hails from Chitradurga, is a B.Sc (Agriculture) graduate. He has earlier served as Commissioner of Police of Mangaluru City, Superintendent of Police in Chikkamagaluru and Kalaburagi. He has also worked as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC), Bengaluru North Sub-Division.
