DHARWAD, Oct 16 : The twin-city police have arrested 19 persons on charges of being engaged in cricket betting during India-Pakistan World Cup cricket match played on Saturday at Ahmedabad.
In eight separate cases, police raided at different places in the limits of Old Hubballi, Keshwapur, Kasabapet, Kamaripet, and Dharwad Town stations.
Rs 53,650, and mobile phones were seized from those allegedly engaged in cricket betting.
Dharwad Town police, last week, arrested one person, and Kasabapet police nabbed three persons in cricket betting cases.
