Karnataka Budget: What’s There For Hubballi-Dharwad And Nearby Districts?

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced several projects for Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, Gadag and Haveri in the state budget for 2022-23.

Here’s the list:

Hubballi-Dharwad

1) Establishment of the ‘Beyond Bengaluru Cluster Seed Fund for Startups’ Hubballi at a cost of Rs 20 crore. Under the fund, the state government will provide seed fund (initial investment) for starting new companies.
Mysuru and Mangaluru will get Rs 20 crore.
In the 2022-23 year, the government has allocated Rs 12 crore.

2) Construction of Deendayal Upadhyay Sauharda Vidhyarthi Nilaya each of 1,000 capacity in multi-storied hostel complexes at a cost of Rs 250 crore in Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru and Mysuru for the children of people from schedule caste, schedule tribe, backward, minority and other classes.

3) Implementation of the Dharwad-Kittur-Belagavi railway line at an estimated cost of Rs. 927 crore.

4) A micro embroidery cluster in Dharwad.

5) FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) cluster in Dharwad.

6) A Special Investment Region in Dharwad.

Gadag

7) Proposal to the central government for a 55-km-long Gadag-Yalvigi new railway line at an estimated cost of Rs. 640 crore.

8) Automatic driving testing track in Gadag.

Haveri

9) Hi-tech government cocoon market in Haveri and Kalaburagi at a cost of Rs 30 crore.

10) Establishment of a mega milk dairy in the Haveri district.

Belagavi

11) Establishment of the Global Emerging Technology Design Center at Belagavi at a cost of Rs.150 crore.

12) Establishment of the regional centre of the Kidwai cancer hospital in Belagavi at a cost of Rs. 50 crore.

13) New agriculture college in Athani.

14) Micro sari cluster in Belagavi-Shahapur.
