Provide Railway Jobs to apprentice candidates: Kondapalli

HUBBALLI, Oct 03: Karnataka Parishista Kulabandhavara Okkuta state president Manjunath Kondapalli said that the South Western Railway (SWR) has not provided Group ‘D’ jobs to Kannada candidates, who did their diplomas and degrees, and completed apprentices (CCAA), despite the clear directives from the Railway Board.

Addressing mediapersons here, Kondapalli said that diploma and degree holders who have undergone training in SWR are eligible for Group ‘D’ posts under the general manager’s authority under the Apprentices Act of 1961. However, jobs have not been provided for the past 14 years, leaving over 300 candidates unemployed, he said.

“Against the injustice by SWR and demanding recruitment, we will meet Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna and Railway Board officials on October 3, during their visit to the City, and submit a memorandum demanding the jobs,” he said.
