HUBBALLI, Aug 17: The Indian Medical Association, Dharwad chapter has given a call to all the private hospitals in Dharwad district to close their OPD (out-patient department) on Saturday, August 17.
IMA President Dr Satish Irkal informed that the private hospitals have been asked to close their OPD from August 17 6:00 am till August 18 6:00 am in protest against the rape and murder of a PG medical student in Kolkata.
The IMA will also take out a protest rally on August 17 from Kadapa Maidan till the deputy commissioner’s office at 10:00 am, said Dr Irkal.
Affect in Hubballi
Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hubballi branch has asked doctors to withdraw OPD services for 24 hours from 6:00 am on Saturday, condemning the rape and murder of a PG medical student in Kolkata and attack on the hospital there.
Essential and emergency services will be maintained, IMA Hubballi branch president Venkatesh Mulimani said.
