Neha Hremath Was Killed for Refusing to Marry: CID Chargesheet

HUBBALLI, July 11: The Criminal Investigation Department, which is probing the Neha Hiremath murder case, said in its chargesheet before the court that accused Fayaz Khondunaik stabbed neha for refusing to marry him.

Victim’s father Niranjanayya Hiremath had alleged that it was a case of ‘love jihad’. The CID has ruled out any such angle, reports IE.

English daily Deccan Herald has quoted sources, “It is said in the extract of the chargesheet that Neha and Fayaz became friends when they were studying BCA. They were in love in 2022 and later in 2024, Neha distanced from Fayaz. Hence, frustrated over the rejection of his advances, Fayaz planned to kill her.”

“To hide his identification, Fayaz on April 15, purchased a cap and a facemask and also a knife in Dharwad. He visited BVB College to study her movements. On April 18 at 4:40 pm, while she was returning after the classes, Fayaz waylaid her and stabbed her.”

Meanwhile, Niranjanayya Hirematch has applied to the court to provide him a copy of the chargesheet, details of the investigation and their submission.
