KIMS Renamed as KMC-RI at Foundation Day Ceremony

HUBBALLI, Sep 06: Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) renamed as Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute (KMC-RI) during the institution’s Foundation Day ceremony here on Friday.

Minister of Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Sharan Prakash Patil unveiled the nameboard of KMC-RI.

Addressing the gathering, Patil emphasized the need to work beyond party differences for the growth of the institution, with a focus on the welfare of the public. Opportunities will be provided for talented youth from the state, especially from rural areas, to pursue medical studies. There are around 71 medical colleges in the state, and a government super-specialty hospital will be opened, which will benefit the general public. The goal is to provide quality healthcare services to people at an affordable cost. He assured that sincere efforts will be made to meet the demands of the institution and stated that everyone’s cooperation is essential for the progress of the organization.

Prasad Abbayya, Chairman of Karnataka Slum Development Board, MLAs Chandru Lamani, Mahesh Tenginkai, KMC-RI Director Dr. SF Kammar, MLA NH Konareddy, HDUDA Chairman Shakir Sanadi, and others were present.
