Five Inter-State Thieves Arrested in Keshwapur Jewellery Shop Theft Case

HUBBALLI, Sep 05: In a significant breakthrough, the Keshwapur police have arrested five inter-state thieves involved in a theft at Bhuvaneshwari Jewellers, located opposite Ramesh Bhavan in Keshwapur here.

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner N Shashikumar said, “The police have recovered gold ornaments worth ₹77 lakh, along with the car and gas cutters used in the crime.

The police have arrested five individuals from Mumbai, identified as Farhan Sheikh, Mukesh alias Raju Yadav, Fatima Sheikh, Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, and Talat Sheikh. A manhunt is underway to track down three key suspects still at large.

Three teams were formed under the leadership of inspectors from Keshwapur, Gokul Road, and Kamaripeth police stations. After gathering extensive CCTV footage and tracking the movements of the suspects, the teams spent 20 days in Mumbai. With this meticulous investigation, the accused were finally arrested.

Further investigations are underway.
