HUBBALLI, July 27: Hubballi Rural Police have arrested three accused in connection with an extortion case occurred near Kusugal ring road.
The arrested are Vinay Kattimani (24), Ganesh Hombaradi (21), both are residents of Hanagal; and Jagdeesh Bhandiwad (21), a native of Kundagol.
According to police, the trio had beaten up one Babasaheb Jakati of Nargund and extorted money and mobile phone from him near Kusugal ring road. The Hubballi rural police had registered a case in this regard.
A team of Hubballi rural police led by inspector Murugesh Channannavar and PSI Sachin Alamelkar arrested the accused. The police have also seized the TVS motorcycle used for the crime and recovered a mobile phone.
