BENGALURU, Aug 26: As many as seven police officials have been suspended in connection with a photo showing jailed Kannada film actor Darshan smoking with a coffee mug in hand, allegedly inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison Complex, which went viral on Sunday, August 25.
Addressing mediapersons, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara said, seven officials have been suspended in connection with this case. The suspended are jail authorities Sharanabasava Amingadh, Prabhu Kandelwal, LS Tippeswami, Shrikant Talwar, Venkappa Kodti, Sampat Kumar, and Basappa.
The viral photo shows Darshan holding a cigarette in one hand and a coffee mug in other sitting on a chair in a lawn along with three others. He was seen chatting cheerfully sitting on a chair in a lawn along in the jail premises. Also, a recording of a video call of Darshan talking with a son of his inmate had also gone viral.
