Big Fish in Net: Rajasthan-Based Ganja Kingpin Arrested
Valuables Worth Crores of Rupees Seized
HUBBALLI, July 31: In a major crackdown, the Hubballi-Dharwad police have succeeded in arresting an inter-state ganja (marijuana) network kingpin in Hubballi.
The arrested is Omprakash Barmer, a resident of Rajasthan.
Informing this to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar said, “The police received information that Omprakash is coming near a hotel near Hubballi Railway Station to sell ganja.”
“Based on the tip-off, a team of cops led by ACP MM Tahasildar and Town police inspector Maruti, rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused,” the commissioner informed.
The police seized ganja worth rupees 85,000, a Rajasthan-passing KIA Sonnet car worth rupees nine lakh and an iphone from him.
During the search operation at his home, the police seized Rs. 96,50,000 cash, 30 ATM cards, 36 cheque books, four passbooks, seven rubberstamps, and six stamping machines.
The police are hunting for more such ganja peddlers in Hubballi-Dharwad.
