Hubballi, April 9:The traffic management is always been a crucial challenge for the Hubballi- Dharwad city.

In order to get rid out of the traffic vows,   the Police department & the HDMC have come out with a ‘smart’ plan.

According to the plan, a state of art & modern Traffic Management Centre (TMC) will come up at the Commisionarate building in Navnagar.

With this, the Traffic Police can keep 24X7 eye on traffic movement, jams & violations across the city.

The HDMC will fund Rs. 5 Crore to this project under Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Scheme.

Rs. 1.3 crore is spent for building & infrastructure development of the Centre. The Centre will have large working space, hall and washrooms for staff.

Rs. 4 crore will be reserved for buying  371 bullet and PTZ CCTV cameras, LED Screens, PCR, Server and other modern equipment.

A total of 371 CCTV cameras are being installed across 19 police stations of the twin cities. Cameras will record traffic violations such as signal jumping, helmet-less ride, triple ride, and other violations. The photos will be automatically sent to the centre, wherein the traffic staff will process it & dispatch penalty notice to the owner of vehicles.
