HUBBALLI: Dr Soundarya, grand daughter of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, hailed from Hubballi. Dr. Soundarya pursued her school education in the City.
After completing primary education at Rotary School and Chinmaya Vidyalaya, she moved to Bengaluru for higher education. Soundarya’s father Virupakshappa was serving as Executive Engineer at Hubballi PWD.
Speaking to Hubballi Times, youth leader Rajat Ullagaddimath said, “Soundarya was my classmate at Rotary English Medium School in Deshpande Nagar. She was talented and very ambitious. She was intelligent and good at studies. She dreamed to become doctor and achieved it, he added.
“Even today I remember that in 2004, when we were in seventh standard, we had contested for the school election,” he recalled.
“I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Soundarya’s demise,” Rajat condoled.
Dr. Soundarya, mother of one, committed suicide at her residence in Bengaluru on Friday.
