HUBBALLI: The Hubballi Division of the South Western Railways has earned a revenue of Rs 2.06 crore from goods transport till September 2020.
As many as 1,786 quintals of parcels were transported to the Guwahati and Sankrail terminals in the goods express trains traveling in the first week of October. The goods included Nestle products, medicine, frozen fish and electrical equipment. Green chilli is being transported from Hubballi to Bhopal and from Ballari to Howrah.
Booking may be made to send the goods in the express trains 120 days in advance, similar to booking seats in the passenger trains. Reservation has been made for 120 days in the Hubballi – Hazrat Nizamuddin Express (07305/02779), which will get the South West Railways a revenue of Rs 37.75 lakh, said a press release.
The public relations officer of the division has added in the release that similar reservations have been made in other trains too.
